Top Eyewear Trends for Spring/Summer 2013
Spring is in the air, and it is time for a fashion update to go along with it. While you might have your wardrobe all set, do not forget to overlook what might be your most important accessory – eyewear. If you are an eyeglass wearer, they are one of the first things that people usually notice when meeting you – making them the most important fashion element to show off your style. Eyewear designers have been busy coming up with new styles to celebrate the start of the spring, and many people have been busy talking about big eyewear brands and manufactures like RayBan and Luxottica on Twitter, and trying to guess what could possibly be next. Read on this article to find out what top trends to look out for and look through this spring 2013!
Neon
Nothing says spring is here and winter is over like bright and bold colors – and you can put that sentiment front and center by sporting some bright, neon frames. Classic designers like Oscar de la Renta and Diane von Furstenberg are taking the bright colors from their runway dresses and slapping them onto their eyewear lines.
Graphic Mod
Retro is in…again. Designers are bringing back the bold geometric patterns of the mod – and slapping them onto eyeglass frames. Check out the cats eye frames, and basic blacks accented by stripes and polka dotes – just like those mod dresses from back in the day. This trend is coming to you by courtesy of classic labels like Dior and Louis Vuitton, with an assist from the classically minded and always trendy Marc Jacobs.
Transparent
Who says lenses are the only part of your glasses that can be see-through? Some exciting designers like Tom Ford are incorporating transparent plastics into their frame designs – often creating gradients or striated colorful transparent frames to play with the light and show off your face!
Metallic
For something attention catching, but not as bright as the neon frames, check out the new line of metallic frames. Classic brands like Burberry and Fendi are forgoing their old patterns for the futuristic and sleek look of silver-highlighted metallic frames. Try these on to add an industrial edge to your look!
While these are just some of the newest trends for this season, be sure to head to your local eyewear purveyor to check them out in person – and see what looks best on you! No matter how trendy a certain eyewear design might be, those with true style always go with a pair what looks best on them – not on the runway!
